Gas-Liquid Heat Exchanger

CALORPLAST Gas-Liquid Heat Exchangers
CALORPLAST gas-liquid heat exchangers have been the standard in the treatment of aggressive gas flows for over 40 years. Whether for cooling, heating, or heat recovery, the unique, patented CALORPLAST technology, combined with the entirely corrosion-resistant plastic construction, ensures unmatched efficiency, operational reliability, and durability.
The modular design of the gas-liquid heat exchangers provides seamless scalability of capacity and performance, adaptable to a wide range of requirements. Gas volume flows from a few hundred to 47,000 cubic feet per minute (approximately 80,000 m³/h) can be managed effectively.

This results in a wide range of applications: – Heat recovery using closed circuit systems (CCS) from aggressive or contaminated exhaust air, such as in metal finishing, chemical processing, electronics manufacturing, and laboratories in educational and research facilities.

– Cooling and heating aggressive process gases and exhaust streams, such as in drying processes, chemical metal treatment, waste incineration, sewage sludge incineration, biofilter cooling, clean-room ventilation systems, and environments with stringent hygiene requirements. Also ideal for cooling airflow using groundwater or seawater.

– Condensation of aggressive vapors in chemical, pharmaceutical, and research industries, drying technology, and circulation processes, facilitating recovery of highly volatile process media.

The gas-liquid heat exchanger consists of a modular core through which a heat transfer medium flows, encased in a housing constructed entirely of high-quality polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PPs), available in double-wall plate or solid material configurations. This housing includes flange connections for direct integration into ventilation systems. Leveraging extensive experience and computer-aided simulation, CALORPLAST engineers precisely determine flow dynamics, heat transfer, and performance characteristics to deliver the most cost-effective and efficient solutions.

Each gas-liquid heat exchanger can optionally include a droplet separator and condensate outlet. An optional plastic cleaning device is available for handling contaminated gases. The open, modular construction facilitates easy cleaning with pressurized water.

The result is a fully operational device ready for immediate installation into exhaust air or process systems, providing reliable performance for many decades.

In environments dealing with aggressive and polluted air, or utilizing groundwater for cooling, traditional metal heat exchangers are unsuitable. CALORPLAST heat exchangers, thanks to their plastic construction, offer perfect hygiene, complete corrosion resistance, and flexible integration into existing infrastructure.
