The open tube-pack design enhances heat transfer efficiency, promotes bath media circulation, and simplifies cleaning and maintenance. Even minor mechanical damage can be repaired on-site,…
Biogas Heat Exchanger
Calorplast Biogas Heat Exchanger Calorplast biogas heat exchangers are engineered to handle the demanding conditions of biogas drying, where gas is fully saturated and contains aggressive compounds like carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and nitrogen alongside methane. Efficient drying is essential for safe and reliable thermal use, making corrosion resistance and easy maintenance a top priority. Built entirely from high-grade polyethylene (PE), Calorplast biogas coolers stand up to the harshest biogas environments. The robust plastic design prevents corrosion, simplifies cleaning, and minimizes downtime—simply slide the heat exchanger out of its housing for easy access without disconnecting piping. Thanks to proprietary Calorplast technology, these heat exchangers deliver maximum surface area in a compact footprint—significantly shorter than comparable tube bundle models. Each unit is delivered ready-to-install, featuring a durable housing, flange connections, baffle plate, droplet separator, and condensate drain. Designed for volumes up to 1,000 m³/h and max. 40 mbar overpressure on the gas side. The plastic design resists fouling and is ideal for applications where frequent cleaning is necessary. Sizing is tailored to your process using simulation software, ensuring optimal performance and industry-standard connections. Calorplast biogas heat exchangers are trusted worldwide for their efficiency, durability, and ease of maintenance in biogas applications.

CALORPLAST Gas-Liquid Heat Exchangers CALORPLAST gas-liquid heat exchangers have been the standard in the treatment of aggressive gas flows for over 40 years. Whether for cooling, heating, or heat recovery, the unique, patented CALORPLAST technology, combined with the entirely corrosion-resistant plastic construction, ensures unmatched efficiency, operational reliability, and durability. The modular design of the gas-liquid heat exchangers provides seamless scalability of capacity and performance, adaptable to a wide range of requirements. Gas volume flows from a few hundred to 47,000 cubic feet per minute (approximately 80,000 m³/h) can be managed effectively. This results in a wide range of applications: – Heat recovery using closed circuit systems (CCS) from aggressive or contaminated exhaust air, such as in metal finishing, chemical processing, electronics manufacturing, and laboratories in educational and research facilities. – Cooling and heating aggressive process gases and exhaust streams, such as in drying processes, chemical metal treatment, waste incineration, sewage sludge incineration, biofilter cooling, clean-room ventilation systems, and environments with stringent hygiene requirements. Also ideal for cooling airflow using groundwater or seawater. – Condensation of aggressive vapors in chemical, pharmaceutical, and research industries, drying technology, and circulation processes, facilitating recovery of highly volatile process media. The gas-liquid heat exchanger consists…
Gas-liquid Heat Exchangers – Evolution Series
Evolution gas-liquid heat exchanger With the Evolution series of gas-liquid heat exchangers, CALORPLAST sets the standard for efficient heat recovery in aggressive and polluted exhaust air environments. Thanks to consistent further development and the use of modern materials and technologies, it has been possible to further increase the efficiency of the gas-liquid heat exchangers in a smaller installation space and to adapt them to current requirements. The modular CALORPLAST concept allows seamless scalability of capacity and performance and can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of requirements. By varying the width and number of heat exchanger elements in height and air direction, both capacity (up to 80,000 m³/h exhaust air volume in one exhaust air line) and performance can be varied and determined according to customer requirements. When used in heat recovery from aggressive or polluted exhaust air in conjunction with a closed-circuit system (CCS), e.g. in surface technology, chemicals, the electronics industry, laboratories in schools, universities, research facilities and similar institutions, the CALORPLAST Evolution heat exchanger achieves heat recovery coefficients that fulfil the Ecodesign Directive 1253/2014 (ErP 2018). The Calorplast Evolution series heat exchanger is integrated into the customer’s AHU as an individual coil, but can also be…
